Lionel left fifteen safe years in enterprise code to see what happens when you swap the keyboard for the forest floor.

His first stop was Mycolog—a straight-up 3-D field guide that lets you turn a mushroom in your browser the way you’d roll it in your hand. No filters, no marketing gloss, just geometry and spores.

Next came CompoVision: three cheap cameras, a handful of props, and an AI stack wired to your gestures instead of your grammar. Wave a mug, get an image. The machine pays attention; the words stay in your head.

Around here—Vancouver AI meetups, late nights at SFU’s Metacreation Lab—Lionel shares the code, answers the hard questions, and reminds us that language is only one way to talk to a computer. The work is quiet, precise, and stubbornly human.

Pull up a chair; see where it goes.

What Lionel’s brewing

Mycolog – A living 3-D atlas of mushrooms built with photogrammetry. Rotate, zoom, and ID each cap in full, earthy detail—no more squinting at flat field-guide photos.

CompoVision – Generative AI that listens to gestures, not paragraphs. Three cameras + random props = instant imagery. Your hands become the prompt.

Community DNA – Habitual collaborator at our Vancouver AI meetups, late-night co-conspirator inside SFU’s Metacreation Lab, and open-source evangelist who hands you the blueprints instead of gatekeeping the magic.

👁️ Why it matters
Lionel’s work torches the notion that text prompts are the ceiling of human–AI collaboration. By stripping out the linguistic middle-man, he proves that creativity can flow straight from body to machine—no translation layer, no corporate gloss, just raw signal.

Jump in, get weird, and watch a new interface paradigm take root—one photogrammed mushroom and prop-flailing session at a time.
